About
A small editorial desk in Newquay, Cornwall, writing for surfers who have limited holidays and don't want to spend them watching flat water.

Every destination opens with when it works and for whom. We use long-run swell and wind records, local surf-shop knowledge and our own trips to set the windows in our calendar.
"Advanced" means you can duck-dive overhead sets and handle a shallow reef. We would rather put you off a wave than send you somewhere you'll get hurt.
We don't sell trips and aren't paid by camps, resorts, airlines or tourism boards. No affiliate links, no sponsored destinations.
We start with the swell: which storms feed a coast, which way it faces and which winds blow offshore. Then water temperature and daylight, then logistics — airports, roads, visas, boat access. Only after that do we write about the waves themselves, spot by spot, with a level rating and the main hazard.
Facts that change — entry rules, levies, airline policies — are flagged in the copy with a prompt to verify before you travel. We review every region page at least once a year and whenever readers tell us something has changed.
